A Little More About Me

I'm a board-certified music therapist and owner of Harmony Garden Music Therapy Services in Jackson, Michigan. I never imagined where starting this practice would lead.

By 2019, I had a thriving team, growing contracts, and the practice I'd always dreamed of. Then the world shut down. I pivoted overnight, laid off most of my staff, and kept going - until I couldn't. My nervous system was fried. My voice was faltering. I didn't recognize myself anymore.

So I turned back to music. This time for me. Through music therapy, sound healing, and a women's community that genuinely changed my life, I started rebuilding - not just the business, but myself. I learned to step back, trust my team, and follow what felt true instead of what felt expected.

Today I have a team of seven music therapists, serve on local executive boards, and am actively exploring how AI and business systems can make practice ownership more sustainable and less isolating. I chose to invest in my business and my own growth instead of more credentials - and that choice shaped everything about how I lead.

I'm a mom, a visionary, and a recovering perfectionist who almost walked away from the profession she loves. I know what it feels like to be trapped inside something you built. I'm here because I don't want other music therapy business owners to feel as alone as I did.

Harmony Garden is more than me. And I am more than Harmony Garden.

Professional Bio

I’m a mom, wife, lifelong musician, board-certified music therapist, performer, and intuitive business consultant. I founded Harmony Garden Music Therapy Services in Jackson, Michigan, where I've been rooted for nearly two decades.

My love for music started in childhood - church choir, flute, a feeling I've never been able to shake. I earned my degree from Michigan State University and have carried that early joy into everything I do professionally. I'm a member of the Great Lakes Region music therapy association, a Jackson Business & Professional Women (BPW) member, and a Lean Rocket Lab LOCAL Fellow, collaborating with entrepreneurs who believe in what thriving communities can look like.

You might find me holding space in a sound bath, performing with the Harmony Gardeners, or collaborating and creating on the local board for Center Stage Jackson. At the heart of all of it is one belief I've never outgrown: music has the power to heal and connect us.
